ABOUT US
Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. is one of the oldest continuously operated title companies in the State of Florida. For over 110 years Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. has served not only Jackson County, but all Northwest Florida as an abstracting and title insurance company.
J. A. Ormand, Marianna Abstractor and insurance agent, began in 1906 to lay the foundation of the Florida Land Title and Trust Co. He understood the tremendous task of cataloging the history of land titles in Jackson County. Florida Land Title & Trust Co. was incorporated on July 21, 1910. Mr. Ormand continued to operate Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. until 1963 when Robert (Bob) and Pat Crisp purchased the thriving title plant and office. In 1996 Ivan (Van) and Susan Kunde purchased Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. from the Crisps. Their son Richard Kunde joined the business in 2006. In over 110 years Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. has only had three owners.
Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. is a charter member of the American Land Title Association and the Florida Land Title Association. We are licensed to insure the title of property for the two largest underwriters: Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. and First American Title Insurance Co. We are the only title insurance company in Jackson County to be able to search property using our own in house title plant documenting the history of land titles for over 100 years and the most up to date technology.
Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. opened a satellite office in Chipley, Florida in 2009. This office allows Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. to expand its services to a larger area offering customers the opportunity to travel a shorter distance for their title needs.
OUR STAFF
Ivan K. (Van) Kunde is President of Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. Van has over 46 years of experience in banking, real estate lending and the Title Insurance industry. This experience includes mortgage processing, closings, appraisals, customer service and records research.
Van graduated from Marianna High School and Chipola Junior College. He also earned a degree in Economics from The University of West Florida and attended the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University. Van has been a licensed Title Insurance Agent in the State of Florida since 1995.
The total of over 46 years of experience in the Title Insurance industry and Banking allows Van to work with customers through the different types of deeds, notes, mortgages, judgments, liens, probates, trusts and other matters of record that can show up in the chain of title when buying , selling or securing a mortgage. Van is also very knowledgeable about what your realtor, lender, surveyor, or other professionals will need in connection with your closing.
Richard K. Kunde
Vice President
Richard K. Kunde is Vice President of Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. He has over 20 years of experience in the Real Estate and Title Insurance industry. Richard is very knowledgeable and experienced in every aspect of securing title insurance for his customers. He works very closely with his customers’ realtors, lenders, surveyors, and other professionals to ensure all real estate closings done by Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc are handled accurately and quickly.
Richard graduated from Marianna High School and Chipola Junior College. Richard also earned a degree in Real Estate from Florida State University. He is a licensed Title Insurance Agent in the State of Florida.

Susan Holley Kunde is the Secretary/Treasurer of Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. She works closely with the title insurance underwriters to assure all reports and audits required of title insurance companies are completed accurately and at the appropriate time.
She graduated from Cottondale High School and Chipola Junior College. Susan also earned a degree in Education from The University of West Florida.

Jennifer McAllister Mercer is a Real Estate Settlement Agent with Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. She is a very knowledgeable and experienced closer. Jennifer goes the extra mile to be sure that each closing is handled with great care and is closed as quickly as possible. She has developed a great working relationship with the real estate professionals needed to make your closing a success.
Jennifer has lived in Jackson County all her life. She graduated from Marianna High School. Jennifer received a BS degree from Troy University. She worked for 18 years as a Pharmacy Tech and Medical Insurance Billing Manager before joining the staff at Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc.
Shannon Ravenel is a Real Estate Abstractor for Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. She loves to discover the history of each piece of property. Shannon is very good at putting the pieces of the puzzle together on the properties that she researches so that you are assured of a clear title at closing.
Shannon is originally from Shelton, Connecticut. She lived in Orlando until moving to Cottondale, Florida in August 2017. Shannon has a background in Emergency Medical Dispatching and Project Management and worked for several years in these fields before joining the staff at Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc.

Emily Anderson Farrar is a Real Estate Settlement Agent for Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc. She learned to love real estate closings when purchasing her first house. Emily works tirelessly to be sure your closing is as special to you as hers was. She works closely with the real estate professionals needed to make your closing a success.
Emily grew up in Jackson County. She graduated from Marianna High School. Emily received an Accounting Degree from Chipola College. She worked for over four years in Bookkeeping and Accounting before joining the staff at Florida Land Title and Trust Co., Inc.
